Valeris' Legacy: Restoring Safe Haven for Rescue Pets

On August 17, our new adoption center was struck by a car, causing major damage to our community cat room. While four of the six missing cats have been found safe, we are still searching for two. Tragically, one beloved cat, Valeris, lost her life.

This fund honors Valeris’s memory and helps ASTRO heal, rebuild, and continue our lifesaving work for homeless cats and dogs.

Valeris came to our rescue on June 20 with three of her little babies in tow. She was an amazing mother and even helped foster a couple of orphaned kittens. Valeris was a true momma bear — sweet with some, swatting at others, always keeping us on our toes. But beneath that tough shell, we knew she was a true sweetheart.

After her kittens found homes and she settled into our community cat room, she began to blossom — making friends and showing she was ready for a family of her own.

We are heartbroken that after all she had been through, her journey ended in such tragedy. Today we honor Valeris, knowing she is watching over her rescue friends and family from above and enjoying bottomless Churus. Gone too soon, but forever loved.
